We understand that with the uncertainty of employment and income, some of you may not be able to give as you were used to. Please know we understand the priorities you face. For those of us who may not face those uncertainties, if you could take a next step in your giving, we would deeply appreciate it.   If you prefer to send in your contribution, please mail it to the church office at:

How you can continue the Caring Ministry at Dove ~ As you know we are living in a time of drastic change in our lives due to Coronavirus. One change that has come upon us is that all who are living in a Senior Living Facility, a Private Care Home, Nursing Home or Rehabilitation Center are now on lockdown. They cannot leave their abode. For those of us that can, we are asking you to do something that might be “a ray of light and joy” in their daily life. If you might be willing to periodically send a card or note to some of our “Shut-ins” please email Pastor Louie at carepastor@doveofthedesert.com.   Louie will email you back some names and addresses that you can send notes or cards to. We thank you in advance for your willingness to be in ministry to your brothers and sisters that are locked in.

Family Promise Update - This is a very difficult time for many.  We understand any hesitation in participating in this program if it presents a medical or economic hardship.  However, if you are able to help, your assistance will be providing much needed support for families with children during this challenging crisis.  Thank you and God Bless!

We will NOT be hosting the families at our church facilities in the month of April. However, we will still be providing meals for dinner and food items for breakfast and lunch.  We will be taking all items to the Scottsdale location on 7221 E Belleview where the families will be residing.

We are in need of:
1. Drivers to take meals to the Scottsdale Family Promise Center.  Pickup food at Dove at 4:15 and deliver to Scottsdale by 5:30 pm.
2. Donations to cover breakfast/lunch items.  You may donate online (designating funds to Family Promise by choosing "other" and typing in Family Promise) or send a check to the Dove office with a footnote that it is for Family Promise.
3. Volunteers to provide the necessary meal items for dinner.  Meal items should be taken to Dove on the day they are needed no later than 4:00 pm.  Sue Couch will be at the church to receive them.  If you have any questions regarding the food, you may contact Sue at 623-221-3719.

Do you sew?  As I’m sure you’ve heard, demand for standard/disposable masks are high and many places are running out or will run out soon. Hospitals across the country are reporting concerns with shortages so the time to act is now. Fabric masks are an option in a crisis when other supplies have been exhausted, as stated by the CDC here:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/ppe-strategy/face-masks.html

Fabric masks will be able to be sterilized and used again as needed, which can help the shortages tremendously. While it’s not exactly as ideal as disposable, cloth is better than nothing to protect our doctors, nurses, and other first responders. Here is a YouTube video about how to make masks by the Deaconess Hospital out of Indiana that originally requested the public make and donate masks, which is what inspired this request:  https://youtu.be/8Hon3XuHKv0

They also shared a cloth face mask pattern courtesy of The Turban Project. PDF copy of the instructions here:
